What Gear to Bring for Camping?

Tent

A good tent, large enough for all your friends (or family) and their stuff, but small enough that it doesn’t take up too much space in your car. You’ll also want one that’s easy to assemble (and disassemble!) so that setting up camp isn’t a hassle.

Sleeping bag

If you’re planning on spending more than one night out there, or if it gets cold at night, make sure you’ve got an appropriate sleeping bag. Don’t forget socks! They keep your feet warm when they’re cold and cool when they’re hot.

Water bottle

You don’t want to get dehydrated out in the desert! Make sure you bring plenty of water with you.

Flashlight

Even if it’s not dark outside yet at night, things always seem darker when you’re camping out (especially if there are no streetlights nearby). Bring along a flashlight so that everyone can see what they’re doing when setting up camp or looking for something in their tent at night.

First aid kit

Accidents might happen when camping. Make sure you have something to treat minor cuts or scrapes with bandages, antiseptic wipes and other supplies from an outdoorsy store. You never know when someone might fall off their bike while riding.
